Our age groups and programs include:
Keeping Your Baby Engaged
We understand how precious your little one is! At this young age, we encourage them to learn about their world by providing a wealth of experiences to choose from during their day! Activities are based on each child's needs and interests. By balancing individual attention with group interaction, our well-trained staff ensures your baby is learning and experiencing new things each day while being cared for and nurtured in a safe and loving environment.
Encouraging Independence
This is an exciting age, where your toddlers are beginning to develop social skills, increase their vocabulary and is starting to find their independence. To help develop these skills, our childcare programs in Edmonton and Sherwood Park has a wide range of opportunities to meet the unique needs of the individual child. Children have daily opportunities to explore and learn about their environment in both indoor and outdoor settings. Our caregivers encourage the children to communicate verbally and participate in individual and group conversations. Providing these unique learning opportunities and experiences for your toddler enhances their self-concept and individuality. It ultimately gives your child a better start to a firm foundation in their preschool years.
Exploring the World Around Them
The Preschool Room offers a balance of free play together with structured individual and group activities. This gives your child a well-balanced early education. At this age, children are asking questions about the world around them; they are continuing to develop their self-concept and control. Through our dedicated staff, our program offers opportunities and experiences in areas of science, math, gross and fine motor skills, dramatic play, constructive play, as well as creative and movement activities. We recognize that each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth and development. Our staff is sensitive to the different levels of ability and learning styles of each child, and considers these factors when developing appropriate activities for this age group.
Getting Ready for Kindergarten
Our well-trained staff helps prepare your child for school readiness experiences. During these activities children participate in relevant structured and unstructured experiences and in projects that interest and educate them throughout the day. To facilitate the transition into Kindergarten, we aim to assist your child in:
A Pre-Kindergarten Program
The Learning Tree Preschool is designed for children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year and offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:45 am – 11:00 am. Children at this age are excited to learn and investigate their world, which is why we have developed an exciting, hands-on preschool program that will focus on preparing your child for Kindergarten success.
Time to Shine
These early grades of your child's schooling are truly an opportunity for them to shine! They learn, explore, reason, read, solve problems and develop lasting friendships! Through our capable staff, we provide guidance and security, with independent exploration. This gives your school-age child the freedom and structure they need at this time. Each week our teachers, with input from the children, develop new, interesting, fun and educational projects to engage your child.
When School Is Finished, Let the Adventures Begin
Join us for a summer to remember. We understand that summer time for school-age children is full of all kinds of adventures. That’s why we have developed a summer day camp where each week is a different theme full of field trips, guest visitors and exciting activities. Children can sign up for certain weeks or come for the entire month.
Registration for our Day Camp begins in February.
Our centres help your child grow with active learning through play. Our age-appropriate activities and a comfortable environment keep your child safe and engaged throughout the whole day.
